National Certification in Literary Braille (NCLB)

What is NCLB?

The National Certification in Literary Braille is the only nationally recognized certification in literary braille geared specifically toward teachers and others working in the field of blindness. The NCLB is a five-year renewable certification awarded to those who successfully pass all four sections of the National Literary Braille Competency Test.

We would like to announce that a NCLB examination has been scheduled in conjunction with the APH Annual Conference, and we invite you to apply. Details of the test date follow:

Application deadline: Friday October 1, 2010

All individuals who register for the APH conference are eligible for a 10% reduced rate of $225.00. In addition we invite all university professional prep program directors to designate one faculty/staff person from their TVI/special education programs to take the NCLB exam free of charge. Program Directors: Please email Louise Walch at braille@nbpcb.org listing the name of your university program and the person you will designate to take the exam.
