To Order a Book to be Transcribed into Braille by APH
- Choose a title/ISBN
- Visit the Louis Database to see if the textbook you have chosen already exists or if an intention has been placed on it by another entity.
- Complete the APH Braille Order Form by filling out the on-line form and then printing it. You can also request to have a form mailed or faxed to you by contacting ATIC@aph.org.
- Send the Braille Order Form to your Ex Officio Trustee for signature. The trustee signature is required. Trustee contact information is here:
http://www.aph.org/fedquotpgm/trustees.html - Send the Braille Order Form along with a copy of:
- The front and back cover of the book
- The title page
- The back of the title page with copyright and ISBN information
- Book supplier information to assure that the exact edition of the book is ordered
- Note: APH only accepts textbook orders with copyrights less than five years old and APH does not transcribe State Editions of Textbooks
- If you have provided an email address on your form, an email confirmation will be sent to let you know we have received your order. If you have not heard from the Accessible Textbooks Department within two weeks, please contact us to make sure we received the order.
For books that are no longer in print or are too difficult to secure, we need you to send us four print copies.
