Contest Rules: Braille Badges 2017
Eligibility for Entering Artwork
The American Printing House for the Blind (APH) announces APH Braille Badges Contest 2017, a digital competition for students who are visually impaired and blind. The digital art will be used in an a set of iMessage® stickers called Braille Badges which are offered for free to download for iPhone®/Apple® device users. Digital art will be selected form entries submitted for jurying. Award winners will be selected from the juried contest, but all submissions will be seriously considered for inclusion in the app. All students with visual impairment are eligible to participate. Verification of visual impairment from the student’s teacher can be an email or phone call.

Criteria and Judging
This contest is designed for student artists who are blind and visually impaired. Students in pre-K through high school level may participate. Works will be selected on the basis of originality of concept, creative animated visuals, and artistic excellence. Artists may receive help in the execution of the artwork. The artwork must be created by the artist, with minimal assistance from anyone else. The judge(s) will be a professional in the art gallery/art museum field, an art educator, and/or a practicing artist from the Louisville area.
All entrants to Braille Badges will receive a letter of appreciation. Award winners will receive an award.
Entry Form: Please use this form to enter APH Braille Badges Contest 2017. All participants may enter only one piece of artwork.
Please fill out the entry form, copy/paste it into an email addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org, then attach your digital artwork to that email. Send!
Entering by Mail
Complete the form and print two copies. Mail your artwork (either a digital version on CD or a photocopy of your original drawing) and the two copies of the form to:
