Free NLS Digital Playback Device

How to Receive a Free National Library Service Digital Playback Device for Listening to APH/DPIL Audio Book Files

Sign up your child for membership in the National Library Service (NLS) and receive a free loan of a digital playback device. Then use your NLS player to listen to the American Printing House for the Blind/Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library audio book files.

Any child or adult who is unable to read standard print as a result of a visual impairment or a physical impairment can become an NLS member and receive a free loan of a digital playback device. This device is equipped with an “NLS network key,” meaning it will play the audio book files from the APH/DPIL Partnership site.

The primary mission of NLS is lending thousands of accessible books and magazines in braille, recorded, and electronic formats to eligible readers of all ages. Once you receive the free digital playback device, you will be able to read books from both the APH/DPIL collection and the NLS collection.

To sign up for this important service, visit: http://www.loc.gov/nls/signup.html
