Eleanor's work has centered around braille research and product development. During her more than 25 years at APH, she has worked on the development of such products as Listen and Think, the APH Numberline Device, the Game Kit, Braillewriting Dot by Dot, the Classroom Calendar, the Individual Calendar, Explanded Dolch Word Cards, Grade 2 Braille Cards, Tactile Road to Reading, Tactile Aids for Reading, Patterns Prebraille Program, Patterns: The Primary Braille Reading Program, Patterns Library Series, Patterns: The Primary Braille Spelling and English Program, Read Again, The Braille Connection, Hands-On Experience with the Cranmer Abacus (Videos), the Nemeth Code Reference Sheet, the Beginner's Abacus, the Analog Clock Model, and others.

She has also done some basic research on the size and spacing of the braille code and characteristics of adventiously blind adults learning braille.

She enjoys her work, and meeting and talking to people about it during presentations and as she fields questions over the phone.
