APH Reading Survey 2

The American Printing House for the Blind is assessing the need for reading materials and reading programs for students who are blind or visually impaired. This survey is in response to the interest expressed by Ex Officio Trustees, focus groups, and individuals who have submitted Product Submissions for specific reading programs. The first survey addressed Remedial Reading Intervention Programs. The second survey addresses supplemental reading materials including leveled reading materials for guided reading. If you are an Ex Officio Trustee, a classroom teacher, itinerant teacher of a child who is visually impaired or family member of the student, we would appreciate your response to this survey.

:

  1. (A leveled book collection is a large set of books organized in levels of difficulty from the easy books that an emergent reader might begin to the longer, complex books that advanced readers will select. In some schools, the collection is housed in a central area. There are multiple copies of many books. There might be ten levels for grades K-1 and three or four levels for each later grade.) These books may not be available in Braille.

  2. Following is a limited list of Reading series that provide leveled reading materials either as classroom libraries, Guided Reading Kits, or shared reading materials.

Have you successfully used any of these programs with students who are visually impaired? Please note if you used this program successfully with Braille Readers (BR), Large Print Readers (LP), or with Both Large Print and Braille Readers (Both)

Please be patient! The form will take some time to process.
Please do not hit the 'submit' button more than once.
