Suzette Wright joined the Department of Educational Research in 1978, after receiving certification as an elementary teacher and a B. A. in psychology with a research orientation from The Colorado College. She has acted as project leader for the development of the APH Light Box, Mini-Lite Box and accompanying materials (Levels I, II and II), Moving Ahead: Tactile Graphic Storybooks, the On the Way to Literacy series of storybooks and related products, and is co-author of the  parent/teacher handbook, On the Way to Literacy: Early Experiences for Children with Visual Impairments. She has also been involved with the development of other APH products for early childhood and multiple disabilities, both as a writer (Bright Sights: Learning to See, Beginnings: A Practical Guide for Parents and Teachers of Visually Impaired Babies) and project assistant (Effective Use of Objects: A Process Centered Intervention, Fine Motor Development Materials, Parents and Visually Impaired Infants (PAVII), Parent Early Childhood Education Series. Her current focus is emergent literacy for children who are blind and visually impaired.

Teachers and parents are partners who play a central role in the development of new materials for students with visual impairment. Suzette welcomes your input concerning past and future APH products in order to better meet the needs of young children with significant vision loss.
