Accessible Media Editor

Reporting to the Director of the Accessible Textbooks Department, this position is responsible for editing, adapting, conducting quality control review of textbooks and materials for students who are blind or visually impaired.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Edit and adapt textbooks in Braille to ensure educational integrity for students who are blind or visually impaired.
  2. Conducts the quality control review of textbooks submitted by external and internal transcribers to ensure compliance with bid specifications and/or NLS Certification and NBA Formats Certification requirements.
  3. Assists in the development of APH textbook editing standards.
  4. Attends professional development conferences, workshops, etc. in the field of blindness and visual impairment.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

Education, Training & Experience Requirements:


Compensation:

Pay Grade: 6
Minimum: $15.10
Midpoint: $18.64

Starting hourly rate negotiable based on education and experience.
