APH Employment Opportunities: Computer Technical Support Specialist
Under the supervision of the Manager of Network Services and Client Support, installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users at APH with a priority for both Pre-Production and Production departments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for installation of computer hardware/software/printers/copiers, diagnosis/resolution of computer hardware/software/printer/copier issues, basic network problem diagnosis/resolution, installation of computer hardware/software upgrades/maintenance with priority to pre-production and production departments.
- Work with outside hardware/software vendors with priority to pre-production and production departments. Manage the replacement of technology equipment and parts.
- Provide technology specific process improvement recommendations with priority to pre-production and production departments. Serve as a resource for technology/PC related training. Coordinate development of obsolescence and replacement plan/schedule for technology related equipment in pre-production and production departments. Provide software/hardware recommendations.
- Assist with maintenance of electronic files on Production server stores. Prepare and convert various electronic file formats for use by pre-production and production departments.
- Interact with various internal users across functional areas at APH.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Training & Experience Requirements:
Associate degree or three years experience as a technical support specialist required. Must have excellent knowledge of PC software skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Access. Excellent researching and troubleshooting skills required. Verifiable experience in data recovery and in technical support skills. Ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external contacts. Programming experience not required but is a plus.
