How to Nominate Someone to the Hall of Fame
Nominations to the Hall of Fame for Leaders and Legends of the Blindness Field are solicited annually from October through March. The 2008 nomination process will end Friday, March 21. Here is the submission form. Simply click the 'submit' button when completed.
What are the criteria?
- Persons who have made significant contributions to improve the lives of those who are blind or visual impaired.
Who is Eligible?
- Persons are eligible five years after departure/retirement from positions where their significant contributions were made.
- Individuals from North America are eligible for nomination. (North America is defined as US, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean).
What is Required?
- A completed nomination form and no more than three letters of support. Electronic submission of the form and the support letters is preferred.
Where and when is Hall induction?
- Although nominations are solicited annually, inductions are not necessarily on an annual schedule.
- To this point, the induction ceremonies have occurred during the October Annual Meeting of the American Printing House for the Blind in Louisville, Kentucky.
How long do nominations remain active?
- Nominations that are not selected are held and reconsidered the following year. If not chosen in the second year, nominations must be resubmitted.
- Nomination forms and letters may be updated for the second year.
Remember to submit your nomination form and support letters by the March 21 deadline.
