Description: A stand of bare, winter trees with thin brown trunks is spread across the foreground of the page. They are growing on a snow-covered hillside. Thin red outlines around some of the tree trunks add a slightly warmer note to this otherwise cold scene. The shadows from the trees and indentations in the snow make alternating white and blue-gray patches under the trees. In the distance beyond the hill, one sees a tall group of evergreens against a dull yellow sky.
