Claude Monet - The Water Lillies

Claude Monet - The Water Lillies

Mixed Media

Size in inches: 9 high by 10 wide
Artist: Mabelin Ramirez
Price: Not for Sale

Description: This tactile piece follows the style of impressionist Claude Monet's famous water lily paintings. Strips of tissue paper create the appearance of water in colors of light and dark green, light and dark blue, pink, navy, and purple. They are approximately one inch thick each and ripped for texture, giving the strips jagged yet soft edges. They cover the entirety of the picture. Styrofoam ovals, about an inch long, create the look of pastel lily pads; three are blue, two are pink, and one is cream. Bright pink artificial flowers are glued to the lily pads, and four dark teal strings of rough, thick yarn wind their way up in the water.
