Description: This sculpture of the bust of George Washington is made out of wood and is approximately five inches tall, including the light wood square base, unpainted and sanded, supporting the head. Washington's shoulders reach all the way across the width of the base, but they are about as narrow as one-third the length of the base. His white hair is painted and carved into the Revolutionary War period fashion, complete with a queue (or tail) in the back and individual curls on the sides. Washington's eyes are carved out from the face, and his long, thin nose stands out off the sculpture. He has peach-colored skin and white eyebrows, looking very dignified with high cheekbones and a stern jaw line. A tight-lipped red mouth is carved into the face. Washington is wearing a red bow tie, projected off the sculpture, and a painted white shirt and black jacket are visible just above the base.
