Description: This bright and engaging painting portrays an arrangement of yellow flowers, possibly roses, in a vase. Their shape is similar to that of a rose, and they have yellow, pink, and white tones in their petals. Deep bluish green leaves and stems support the flowers but they are not painted as thickly as the buds, so they add a delicate contrast. The background of the painting consists of approximately three inch checkered squares in pink, mauve, and the bluish green of the leaves and stems. Yellow and blue splotches also dot the background and appear as if they might have been painted over a net because of their texture and precision.
