Eyes Through the Jungle

Price: Not for Sale

Honorable Mention: Seventh, Eighth, Ninth Grades

Description: This piece was created on a scratchboard - a black sheet that produces white lines when scratched. The focus of this work is the face of a girl; she is wearing thick-rimmed glasses and has a blank or disinterested expression. She is surrounded on all sides by grasses, leaves, flowers, and vines. Below her face are a frog, a bug, and a dog; above her face are a bird and a bat. All of these items blend together, so that it is difficult to discern the boundaries between the face and the jungle.
