Description: This sculpture depicts a monster rising from the sea. The sea consists of an eighteen inch by eighteen inch wooden board covered with blue clay strips and silver and purple glitter. The monster itself, only whose head and hands have emerged from the water, is composed of ceramic; its skin is colored a light green with brown and dark green splotches. Its long tongue is a deep crimson, while its large eyes are blue. Above its exaggerated, red eye lashes is a sea of finely defined hairs, atop which is a large, white, snake-like structure.
