The Phoenix Tree

Artist: Franklin Loeb
Size in inches: 14 high by 16 wide
Price: Not for Sale

Honorable Mention: Seventh, Eighth, Ninth Grades

Description: The artist has created a hot, dry landscape. A bright yellow sun shines down from a cloudless blue sky on a single tree that is growing in gray-pink sand. The tree stands straight up in the center of the page. Its many branches stick out like waving arms from the thin, black trunk. There are no leaves on the branches, but there is a round, green shape at the tip of each branch.
