Practical Information for K-12 School Groups
Costs
School visits are always free, although some workshops require a materials fee.
Reservations
Please call to schedule a visit at least two weeks in advance. Reservations are accepted up to six months in advance. Should you need to cancel your visit, please call seven days in advance.
Hours
On weekdays, school groups may schedule visits between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. A typical visit lasts 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Group Size and Chaperones
School groups are limited to sixty students and chaperones. Please arrange for at least one adult chaperone for each group of ten students.
Accessibility
Both the plant and the museum are wheelchair accessible. Museum displays have print, braille, and audio information. Please inform us at the time of scheduling if any member of your group requires special assistance.
Buses
Buses unload and park on Frankfort Avenue, in front of the American Printing House for the Blind. A sidewalk leads from the street to the front door of the building. Ramp access is located in the side parking lot.
