Samuel Gridley Howe reported in 1836 that the entire New Testament was in press. It was being embossed with aid from the American Bible Society ($1200), the Massachusetts Bible Society ($1000), Ladies Bible Society ($800), and an individual donor ($250). In 1842, the entire Bible was completed, condensed to eight volumes, and sold at cost at $20 per set.
