Napoleon B. Kneass, Jr., of Philadelphia, devised his raised letter system for tactile reading in 1867. He combined the capital letters of Philadelphia Line type with lower case letters like those of Boston Line type. His magazine was probably the first to be published in the U.S. for blind readers.
Title of magazine varies: Kneass's or Kneass'. |
