Provenance/History The Educational Research Dept. at APH, headed by Dr. Carson Nolan, worked in the 1970s to adapt/use commercially available products to the needs of the visually impaired. The department acquired this teaching machine to study, although nothing was developed from it. Copyright dates on the lesson range from 1962 to 1973. The 1976 (#108) APH annual report describes an educational research and development project to "review currently available self-instructional teaching systems" (p. 22).
