Description Pocket braille slate; curled piano hinge; 6 lines of 19 cells; pins (down) in top allow paper to be read without removal from slate; raised lines on top frame divide rows into groups of two, raised dots divide columns every five cells; windows in top frame indented to guide placement of stylus; stamped "Howe Press Perkins Model 2" and "E-Z Read" --front of slate. .

Provenance/History Item is part of a slate collection that belonged to David Ronecker (1918-2001). He was blind since birth, attended the Missouri School for the Blind, worked in
Texas as a medical technician for the armed forces, and was an avid collector of slates. His nephew, Charles Zinser, sold the slate collection after Ronecker's death.
