Description Hinged braille slate; 4 lines of 40 cells; 1 large blunt pin in top plate; 2 pegs on back of bottom plate to fit in holes on a smooth board; a board is not included. "Howe Press Perkins Model 13 T" --front of top plate.

Provenance/History This slate model was available from Perkins as early as 1927. David Ronecker Collection. He was blind since birth, attended the Missouri School for the Blind, worked in Texas as a medical technician for the armed forces, and was an avid collector of slates. He was the uncle of Charles Zinser, who cquired the slate collection after Ronecker's death.
