Description Embosses 15/16 inch-wide paper tape; black plastic keys with rubber pads beneath make this a "silent" machine; wooden case has black leather-like covering, hinged lid, metal clasps, and leather handle on the side. Braille writer is bolted to a wooden base that lifts out of the case; base secured with a metal latch. "Model G, Matrix, Coventry Gauge & Tool Company, Ltd., No. 1183, For The Royal National Institute for the Blind, London W.I." is stamped on the front, above the keys. Black metal finish is marred in spots; rubber pads are deteriorated; metal clasps are rusty; case handle is very worn. Braille writer looks similar to the Stainsby Shorthand Writer, Model G.
