| Provenance/History |
The original Light Box was introduced in 1984 for developing the use of low vision, stimulating an awareness of light and color, and shapes of objects. It had been approved for production following presentation of the prototype to the APH Educational Aids Committee in November 1981. It was inspired by home made units already being used in classrooms. The portable "mini" Light Box was added to the catalog in 1996. The APH Project Director was Suzette Frere. Both Light Boxes were designed in the APH model shop by Tom Poppe. |
