Provenance/History The American Printing House for the Blind made this acetate master to produce the talking book "Joe DiMaggio: The Yankee Clipper."
A Scully recording lathe was used to cut grooves in acetate masters, which were then coated with silver and electropated with nickel on the silver side to form a metal stamper. After the acetates were peeled away, the nickel-plated stampers were ready to be placed in a record press for producing rigid vinyl sound recordings.
