Provenance/History The American Printing House for the Blind created metal stampers for use in a record press to produce rigid vinyl talking book records. The stampers were made by electroplating the silver-coated side of an acetate master and, then, peeling the acetate away from the resulting nickel-plated stamper. Electroplating equipment was installed at the company in 1939. The last rigid vinyl disc was pressed on May 8, 1987 for the 1986 recording of "Those Days."
