Abstract Folder contains an accordion-style fold-out of 16 color-tinted reprints of photographs of Louisville, 8 reprints on one side and 8 on the other. Each picture measures 6 x 4 in. The back of the cover provides an address section for mailing. It is used. Printed above this section is "Souvenir of Louisville, KY" and "The Gateway To The South." In the upper left corner is a picture titled "Kentucky State Fair Grounds. Main Building." and beneath it another picture titled "Fourth Street, looking North from Custom House." In the lower left corner is "Published by The Kyle Co,. Louisville, KY." The front of the cover has a "From" section and a picture titled "Big Four R. R. Bridge between Louisville, Ky. and Jeffersonville. Ind." In the bottom left corner is "1819." At the bottom, centered, is "made by Curt Teich & Co. Chicago. Ill." Folder is worn along folds; dog-eared at corners. Printed inside the folder is a "Nut Shell History and Description" of Louisville. The 16 enclosed pictures are titled as follows: The Jefferson County Court House.; The Great Draw-Span Open in K. & I. Bridge, Between Louisville, KY, And New Albany, Ind.; Fourth Street South.; Lake In Cave Hill Cemetery.; Armory.; Main Street, West From Third Street.; City Hall.; Belknap Bridge, Cherokee Park.; Louisville Public Library.; Canal And Locks On Ohio River.; Custom House And Post Office.; The Steps, Cherokee Park.; Driveway Along The River, Shawnee Park.; Kentucky School For The Blind, Main Building.; New Swimming Pool, Shelby Park.; The Only Government Inland Life Saving Station In The United States. This postcard folder is similar to accession 1999.39.
