On the front of the postcard is a color-tinted photo of the front of the school building. The building is brick with white wood columns along the front entrance. There are two balcony levels above the front entrance; each balcony has white columns and wood trim. There are several trees in front of the building, and the property is bordered by a decorative iron fence. In the single border at bottom is printed "State Institution for the Blind. Austin, Texas." A message is also handwritten in ink in the border. The date "1/28/08" is handwritten in ink at top left. The back is divided, used, and postmarked Jan 31, 1908. Along left edge is printed a logo with the letter "S" in the middle and "St. Louis - Leipzig. Printed in Germany." Slight foxing; faded. |
