Description
Black and white photo is mounted on a white card. It shows a head-and-shoulders portrait of a girl, probably in her teens, who is blind. Her hair is worn up, and she has a star and half-moon brooch at the center of her collar. A bouquet of flowers is partially visible. "Chafin, 316 W. 4th St., Waterloo, Iowa" is stamped in gold lettering in the bottom margin. Reverse is blank. This same girl also appears at center in another cabinet photograph of students who attended the school that is now called the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School. See accession 2004.74.2.
