Admin/Biog History The Arkansas Institute for the Education of the Blind, located at Arkadelphia, was incorporated in 1859. It closed in 1863, during the Civil War, and reopened in 1867. The school relocated to Little Rock in September 1868. The name was changed to the Arkansas School for the Blind in 1877.

Abstract Two biennial reports for the Arkansas School for the Blind documenting the school's management, building, and student activities: the Twenty-sixth Biennial Report of the Arkansas School for the Blind, for the term commencing October, 1913; and the Thirtieth Biennial Report, 1922, printed in the 4th Biennial Report of the Board of Control of Arkansas, 1921-1922.
Reports list the trustees, school staff, and students by name, and include a financial report. The later report also includes an incomplete list of school alumni and a list of past superintendents.
