The Georgia Academy for the Blind, located in Macon, was incorporated in 1852. A separate department was opened in 1882 for blind African American students. The school was integrated in 1965. |

| Custodial History |
Reports were collected by the Migel Library of the American Foundation for the Blind, which closed in 2009. In that year, the American Printing House for the Blind purchased the holdings of the Migel Library and annual reports were transferred to the APH Museum. |
