Admin/Biog History The Indiana Institute for the Education of the Blind was founded in Indianapolis in 1847. In 1907, the name changed to Indiana School for the Blind. In 1930, the school relocated to its present site on North College Avenue.

Custodial History Reports were sent to the Kentucky School for the Blind and were kept there until being transferred to the APH Museum in 1996.

Abstract Printed reports of the Indiana School for the Blind documenting the school's management, building, and student activities. Reports list the school's officers, staff, and students, the school's financial receipts and disbursements, and some include black-and-white photo illus.
An illustration (frontispiece) of the school building appears in the 36th annual report and in several subsequent reports. The 70th annual report includes a list of the school's graduates from its foundation through 1916. 72nd annual report includes a "History of the School" and "Excerpts From Laws Governing the School." Excerpts From Laws Governing the School also appear in subsequent reports.
