Description 
Printed reports of the Indiana School for the Blind documenting the school's management, building, and student activities. Reports list the school's officers, staff, and students, the school's financial receipts and disbursements, and some include black-and-white photo illus. The 1st report includes a tipped-in specimen of raised line letter, this also appears in the 2nd report with ink-print specimens of a student's compositions and appears in several subsequent reports. The 4th report includes a tipped-in specimen of embossed sheet music with raised notes and staff and raised line-letter text that was printed by M. Snider at the Pennsylvania Institution for the Blind. An illustration (frontispiece) of the school building "Designed & Drawn by F. Costigan" appears in the 4th annual report and in subsequent reports. Illustrations of the building floor plans appear in the 22nd report. Also includes a 13-page article issued in the Indiana Journal Extra, July 28, 1853; and the "Report of W.H.H. Terrell, Financial Secretary to the Governor, May 1864" regarding the procurement of sufficient funds to keep "benevolent institutions" of Indiana open.
