W. James Lintner, Jr. elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Printing House for the Blind, Inc.

News Release: Louisville, Kentucky, April 19, 2004


W. James Lintner, Jr. has been elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Printing House for the Blind (APH). He has served on the board since 1998.

APH's board of trustees sets policy and provides direction for the world's largest company devoted solely to making products for people who are visually impaired. Founded in Louisville in 1858, this non-profit company is the oldest institution of its kind in the United States. The federal Act to Promote the Education of the Blind, passed in 1879, made APH the main supplier of educational materials for visually impaired students in the U.S.
