APH appoints new Director of Planned Giving

News Release: Louisville, Kentucky, May 3, 1999

The American Printing House for the Blind has appointed Paul Zurkuhlen of Louisville, Kentucky, to the position of Director of Planned Giving. He was an attorney with the firm of Ricketts and Travis from 1987 until his appointment to the post at APH. He will be responsible for developing relationships with donors who want to remember the Printing House through wills, trusts and annuities.

Mr. Zurkuhlen was born in Louisville, Kentucky, where he graduated from Trinity High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. After college, he moved to Washington, D.C. for two years of service in the Army. While in Washington, he received his law degree from what is now George Mason University and worked for the Board of Veterans' Appeals. He moved to London, Kentucky in 1981 where he worked for the Public Defender's Office and the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.

The American Printing House for the Blind, founded in 1858, is the oldest organization of its kind in the United States and the world's largest not-for-profit company that creates educational, workplace and life-style products and services for blind or visually impaired people.
