Braille Transcribers Apprentice Program (BTAP)

The National Prison Braille Network announced the launch of a model reentry initiative to transition braille transcribers into the workforce at the 2014 National Prison Braille Forum. The Braille Transcribers Apprentice Program (BTAP) is a one-year pilot program developed to meet the need for qualified braille transcribers, and the need of transcribers who learned braille in prison for guidance and further training as they seek to establish careers in braille translation upon release.
