Power Select Reset Sequence Report
It has been noted that a number of APH customers who have purchased the POWER SELECT have had some problems. In many cases the unit is not defective but the GFCI is not resetting. Once the GFCI trips, there is a specific procedure one must follow in order to reset it. Power must be present at the GFCI or it will not reset. The following procedure is a method that can be used to properly reset the GFCI outlets. If you have a non-functional GFCI outlet(s) on your unit, please follow the procedures below to assure the outlets cannot be reset prior to returning the unit to APH for service. If the procedure below does not result in the proper function of your unit please return the unit to the APH Product Repair Department for servicing.
- Plug the 120-volt AC power cord from the POWER SELECT into a working wall outlet. (The BLUE Led lamp that is on the top face of the unit should be ON.)
- Plug one of the SLK switches into the 3.5 MM jack located on the front side of the unit that is directly below with the outlet that does not function.
- Rotate the lower function knob on the power select to "Latch."
- Plug a 120-volt AC device, such as a table lamp or the SLK Massager, into the non-working GFCI outlet. Make sure that the AC device is in the "ON" position so as to be noticed when power is applied to the device.
- Activate the switch (from #2). You should hear the faint click of an internal relay. This means power is now applied to the GFCI. Your device will not work yet because the GFCI is still in the tripped mode & not applying power to the device itself.
- With the AC power now applied to the GFCI, press the red "RESET" button on the GFCI outlet. The AC device that is plugged into the GFCI outlet should now be turned ON & operating (light turns on, radio plays, fan turns, etc.).
- If the other GFCI outlet is not working, perform the same operation (steps 2-6) as before on that outlet.
If no power is supplied to the AC device plugged into the GFCI outlet on the POWER SELECT after the preceding seven steps are performed on either or both GFCI outlets, return the POWER SELECT to APH for service.
