Adjusting Fonts and Colors
Internet Explorer
Changing the type size:
- Open View menu
- Select Text Size
- Choose from one of the five available sizes
Changing the font style:
- Open the Tools menu and select Internet Options
- From the General tab select the Fonts button
- Choose a font, size and style and select OK
- Select the Accessibility button from the General tab
- Select Ignore font styles option to activate your changes
Changing font colors and backgrounds:
- From the General tab, click on the Colors button
- Deselect the Use Windows color checkbox
- Click on the Text button to open the Color dialog box
- Choose your desired color and click OK
- Click on the Background button to adjust the background color.
- Click OK to return to the General tab
- Select the Accessibility button, and select Ignore colors specified by web pages to activate changes
Changing links colors:
- Click on the Colors button
- Select Visited or Unvisited to change the colors of the links
- Select the colors that meet your needs
- Select the Use hover color checkbox and choose the color you want for the highlighting
- Click OK to return to the General tab and click OK again to start browsing

Netscape Navigator
Netscape Navigator allows the user to define the size, style and color of the fonts on web pages. You can also change the color of the background and the colors of the links (visited and not visited) on the page.
Changing the type size:
- Open View menu
- Select Increase Font or Decrease Font
- or use Keyboard Commands: ctrl ] (increase)ctrl [ (decrease)
Adjusting the font style and the colors:
- Open the Edit menu and select Preferences
- From the category list, select Fonts
- Choose a desired font style and size for both variable-width and fixed-width fonts
- Select the Use my default fonts... option
- Select the Colors category
- Choose colors for fonts, background, and links
- Deselect Use Windows colors
- Select the Always use my colors option
AOL
Adjusting the font style and the colors:
- Open the My AOL menu and select Preferences
- Click on the WWW icon and select Advanced Settings
- From the dialog box, choose the Browser Display option
- This should open the Internet Explorer Internet options dialog box
- Follow the directions outlined above for IE users
Opera
The Opera browser allows you to control many display options. Font type, size, and color as well as background color and also the color of links can be defined by the user. The controls for your display options are all in the same location:
- Open the File menu and select Preferences
- Select the Document option from the list of categories
- From User fonts and colors set the Font size by double-clicking a text style (Normal, Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.) or by highlighting and selecting the . . . button
- Choose font style and size
- Set the Background color by placing cursor in the active field or by selecting the . . . button and choosing a color from the palette
- Beneath the Presentation Modes heading are two columns of checkboxes
- Deselect any boxes marked in the "Document" column on these lines:
- Document fonts and colors
- User fonts and colors
- User links
- Check the same boxes in the User column
- Select the Link Presentation button
- From the dialog box, choose presentation colors and elements for Not Visited and Visited links categories
- In the Preferences dialog box, choose Apply button to activate changes
