APH Career Opportunity: Shipping/Receiving Clerk

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Under general supervision and in warehouse environment, perform a combination of tasks to receive, store, and issue materials. Load and unload raw materials, finished goods, and deliver stock to specified in-house areas. Load and unload mail, lift and move weights up to 75 lbs. regularly. Verify material received to determine quality and quantity, and post records for inventory of various materials. Perform shipping procedures including, packing, insurance, material returns, and posting outgoing mail, including exhibit materials. Serve on inventory teams. Use barcoding system to move materials. Other duties may be assigned.

Equipment, Machines, Tools, and Work Aids

Hand forklift trucks, electronic and analog scales, postage meters, wrapping machines, micrometers, computers, etc. Be trained on forklift rider truck operation. Work on direct online computer transactions, including UPS and USPS mail systems. Barcode scanner.

Education, Training, and Experience Requirements

Must be able to read and follow detailed instructions and have basic written and mathematical skills – passing a test is required. Job requires basic computer skills, climbing ladders, grasping, twisting, squatting, bending, standing, and lifting up to 75 pounds or more.

Compensation

New Hire Rate: $14.58
After 45 days worked: $15.58

Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday
7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday (with every other Friday off)
