Create Custom Lessons with the CVI Complexity Sequences App!
As technology continues to pave the way for innovation in education, APH’s new CVI Complexity Sequences App brings the same familiar content from earlier iterations of the product into a new dynamic format. This app is designed for use on iPads and Mac computers, making it a versatile and easy addition to your classroom.
The CVI Complexity Sequences App builds on the foundation of the original CVI Complexity Sequences Kit and eBook with new features that make it more interactive and adaptable. At its core, the app includes ten sets of target images and corresponding background scenes. These sequences are designed to gradually increase visual complexity, helping students improve their ability to identify objects visually against varying levels of background information.
One of the standout features of the app is its new customizable settings. Educators can now alter the position of the target in each scene to avoid repetitive composition. The app allows for the random placement of target images within scenes, audio muting, and the ability to disable screen swiping. Additionally, the app allows instructors to move target images anywhere within the six background screens, adding an extra layer of interactivity and customization. Finally, the new reset button makes it easy to return the image to the center default location. These options provide educators with the flexibility to adapt lessons to ensure they cater to the unique learning needs of their students.
The app also includes the audio response feature introduced in the eBook version, which provides positive sounds to students when they correctly identify a target. This feature reinforces learning by engaging multiple senses and providing positive sensory feedback.
The primary goal of the CVI Complexity Sequences App is to help learners refine their ability to identify a target in the presence of increasing visual complexity while still being fun and engaging. This app can be used by students with CVI as well as those with low vision as it enables them to practice their visual identification abilities in a supportive environment. If you’re concerned the app may be too complex as a starting point with your student, we encourage you to explore the physical cards in the CVI Complexity Sequences Kit. Introducing the original 2D background and targets with your student can help prepare them for the more dynamic scenes in the app.
By providing a customizable, interactive platform for visual learning, this app supports educators in creating lessons that are effective while still holding the attention of their student. Students benefit from a learning experience that is tailored to their individual needs, helping them develop crucial visual comprehension skills in an engaging way.
