Art Metzler

Art Metzler, a New Jersey native, began his broadcast career at WOR in New York in the 1940s. Art joined the staff of WAVE radio in Louisville in 1959, as a sportscaster and morning show host. He is best remembered as the voice of University of Louisville Cardinal basketball and football from the mid-1960s until the early 1980s, along with fellow APH narrator, Ed Kallay. Art was also the voice of the Louisville Redbirds AAA baseball team in the mid-1980s. He began recording at APH in 1964 and recorded over 370 titles, primarily military and political history, and sports books. Art retired in 1998.
