Practical Information for Home Schools
Workshops are offered at no charge to youth groups. Craft workshops require a materials fee.
Groups may schedule visits between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. A typical tour, including the factory, lasts 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Workshops can be scheduled separately. The Museum is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Workshops are available on Saturdays, but factory tours are not.
Free parking is available in the APH visitor parking lot. The entrance is to the right of the building off Frankfort Avenue.
Please call to schedule a visit at least two weeks in advance. Reservations are accepted up to six months in advance. Should you need to cancel your visit, please call seven days in advance.
On weekdays, we can accommodate groups with as few as six members or as many as sixty. Groups of thirty students or more will be split into two or three groups. Saturday groups are limited to 25. Parents and siblings are welcome.
Please arrange for at least one adult chaperone for each group of five young people.
Both the plant and the museum are wheelchair accessible. Museum displays have print, braille, and audio information. Please inform us at the time of scheduling if any member of your group requires special assistance.
