New Product Ideas

Thank you for your interest in submitting a product idea to the American Printing House for the Blind (APH)! APH operates within the requirements set forth by the Federal Quota Program, which enables us to provide specialized educational materials to students who are blind or have low vision. The Quota program stipulates that each product:

  • must not be commercially available anywhere in the US when product development begins
  • must show evidence of a clearly defined need

The Product Ideation Committee considers dozens of new product ideas each year, and the decision-making process can take several months. APH is accepting new product ideas in the following categories: low-vision technology, STEM, braille literacy (children and adults), braille technology, and O&M technology.
