Discover Monarch

Two hands explore the tactile display of the Monarch device rendering a tactile graphic of a Monarch butterfly.

Join the Braille Revolution

Take flight with the Monarch, a portable tactile computer that renders tactile graphics seamlessly integrated with braille. Designed as a laptop-style device purpose built for accessibility, Monarch gives users fast access to downloadable digital textbooks and a massive free content library, including APH’s Tactile Graphics Image Library (TGIL), dramatically reducing time to fingertips for people who are blind or low vision.

Monarch is supported by specialized customer support and customized training tailored to individual needs, including webinars, hands-on demonstrations, virtual or in-person sessions, and an active Monarch Users Group.

Join us for an interactive Monarch demonstration where we’ll explore the innovative features of Monarch over Zoom. Additional resources and a current list of apps can be found on the Meet Monarch page.

As we seek to create a world where everyone is welcome, APH is hosting the Monarch Student Pilot Project (MSPP), granting select 1st-12th grade students across the U.S. and its territories access to Monarch. This initiative enables us to observe the educational impacts on student outcomes, helping us enhance Monarch’s potential to empower students who are blind or low vision to lead their own education journeys.
