Indigo is a fully accessible turn-by-turn GPS app designed to support independent outdoor navigation for blind and low vision users. With a simple interface and four easily accessible tabs—Routes, Location, Points of Interest, and Settings—users can easily navigate the app. Indigo provides audio tones and vibrations that offer real-time feedback, alerting you to upcoming turns, critical intersections, and when a search is in progress.
What sets Indigo apart is its verbosity, delivering detailed spoken instructions that offer more context than other GPS apps. Choosing a destination is flexible and user-friendly, whether you’re starting from a point of interest, selecting an address from your contacts, or revisiting a previous route. For those who like more travel data, a simple tap on the More Info button reveals your current altitude and speed. Indigo combines powerful navigation features with thoughtful accessibility, making it the perfect companion for confident and safe independent travel. A user guide and highlights document are available for free download under the Manuals & Downloads section below.
Indigo supports English, French, German, Hebrew, Serbian, and Spanish and is available in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, UAE, UK, and the United States.
Originally developed in 2012 by Sendero Group as Seeing Eye GPS, RNIB Navigator and Guide Dogs AU GPS.
