STEM Scholarship Opportunities for Students with Visual Impairments

There is an increasing demand for advanced technologies and for people who know how to make and use them. But STEM is not just about computers. People who pursue STEM careers are also creative thinkers and problem solvers. Careers in STEM are as diverse as the people who pursue them, and because of the increased demand, offer a greater amount of job security.

If you are a parent or teacher of a student with a visual impairment who is interested in pursuing a STEM degree in higher education, there is scholarship money available to you. APH is proud to offer three scholarship opportunities.

  • The 2022 Peter Papano APH STEM Scholarship – application deadline is June 17, 2022
  • The 2022 PPG Foundation APH STEM Scholarship – application deadline is July 1, 2022
  • The 2022 APH Coding Symposium STEM Scholarship – application deadline is June 17, 2022

The 2022 Peter Papano APH STEM Scholarship

For the second year, APH is excited to announce the renewed support for the Peter Papano APH STEM Scholarship for students who are blind or visually impaired! The application process for the 2022 scholarship is open from April 22, 2022 to June 17, 2022 (applications submitted before or after the designated timeframe will not be considered). If you are a high school senior planning to attend college in fall 2022 and majoring in a STEM subject, you may be eligible. 2022 Peter Papano APH STEM Scholarship

The 2022 PPG Foundation APH Physical Science Scholarship

APH is excited to announce a new scholarship for students who are blind or visually impaired! The application process for the PPG Foundation APH Physical Science Scholarship is open from April 14 to July 1, 2022 (applications submitted before or after the designated timeframe will not be considered). If you are a high school senior and will be attending college in fall 2022, and will major in chemistry, physics, or another physical science, you may be eligible. To learn more and to apply, please read the guidelines in the application below.

2022 PPG Foundation Physical Science Scholarship

The 2022 APH Coding Symposium Technology Scholarship

This year, the American Printing House for the Blind is introducing a new scholarship: the APH Coding Symposium Technology Scholarship! One student will be eligible to receive a scholarship of $1,000. The application process for the 2022 scholarship is open from April 22, 2022 to June 17, 2022 (applications submitted before or after the designated timeframe will not be considered). If you are a college freshman in good standing, currently enrolled in college full-time, and a technology major, you may be eligible. To learn more and to apply, please read the guidelines below.
