Product Updates for Summer 2025

Puzzle cards of various shapes and colors are laid across a table, all with Spanish print and braille labels.

At APH, we are always working to produce new technology and improve what already exists to ensure we are serving the APH community in every way possible. With technology that is always evolving, we strive to keep you informed about any and all updates or enhancements to our products.

Life Science Tactile Graphics

Life Science Tactile Graphics are a collection of full color tactile graphics designed to be an accessible supplement for figures and diagrams in life science textbooks. The tactile graphics range from organisms and processes to concepts and patterns. Each graphic is accompanied by instructional hints and suggestions. The braille levels were previously EBAE but have now been updated to UEB braille.

Memory Puzzles: Shapes Spanish

Memory Puzzles: Shapes is now available in Spanish! Memory Puzzles: Shapes is an exciting tactile braille matching game for any braille learning ages 3 and up. The set comes with 52 colorful puzzle pieces that create 26 sets of shapes with both print and braille labels.  The pieces from the Spanish and English sets also fit together to use interchangeably and create bilingual puzzles. This product promotes memory and matching skills, problem-solving, and tactile learning.

Tactile Connections: Symbols for Communication

Tactile Connections: Symbols for Communication helps teachers to create a kit of tactile card systems entirely individualized for learners with any level of vision, a lack of formal means of communication/literacy, or any disabilities. The kit now includes an updated user guide that has been uploaded to the APH website. This newly updated guide includes a new section on universal core vocabulary and expands on how tactile connections can be used to teach and develop these skills.

Snapino

Snapino: Access Kit is an accessible version of the Snapino product. This product is an introduction to open-source coding that allows learners interested in coding or programming to put their knowledge to the test as they create code with Snapino circuits. This accessible version includes braille labeled parts. A few small updates are coming to the kits, including new packaging. The Snapino pieces may look a little different, but it is the same great product!

TactileView

TactileView is a software designed to create and edit tactile graphics with ease. TactileView is accessible for both beginners and professionals who are interested in developing their own tactile drawings. The software allows users to create graphics, access a library of tactile graphics, and convert images to embossed designs. PageBlaster now comes equipped with TactileView and lets users take advantage of these great features!

Astro Adventure Balls App and Flip-Over Faces App

Astro Adventure Balls and Flip-Over Faces now come equipped with closed captions! Both of these apps are designed to be engaging and accessible learning tools on the go. Our accessible mobile apps provide students with the opportunity for story-based learning on mobile tools being used in and out of the classroom. These are the first of APH’s mobile apps to be equipped with closed captioning.
